The panel discussion on 'Peoples' Participation: A Powerful Tool in Tackling the Issues of Plastic Waste' was organized by ICWMR, TERI SAS in collaboration with IPCA, Dabur India Limited and Save Mother Earth Mission on 24th June 2023 at TERI School of Advanced Studies. The panel discussion was successful in highlighting the importance of people led movements in mitigating the present problem of plastic waste management. It saw participation of individuals from various RWAs in and around Delhi, professionals working in this field, students and academicians. The panelists consisted of Mr. Byas Anand, Head-Corporate Communications & CSR at Dabur India Ltd, Ms. Monmi Barua, Fellow, TERI, Mr. Shyam Tayal, Co – Founder, Save Mother Earth Mission. The session was moderated by Ms. Garima Kaushik, Head, ICWMR, TERI SAS.

The panel discussion on 'Enablers and Constraints of Plastic Waste Management' was organized by IPCA and IFAT India. ICWMR, TERI SAS was the supporting partner of the panel discussion.

The discussion was a part of Swachh Bharat Yatra - by IFAT India and was held on 26th May 2023, at Hotel, Hyatt Centric, Chandigarh. The Panel discussion focused on understanding the present condition of plastic waste management and highlighted potential solutions for the future.

Panel discussion on 'Policy Diagnosis of EPR for Plastic Waste Management'

The panel discussion on 'Policy Diagnosis of EPR for Plastic Waste Management' was organized by IPCA and IFAT India. ICWMR, TERI SAS was the supporting partner of the panel discussion.

The discussion was a part of Swachh Bharat Yatra - by IFAT India and was held on 12th May 2023, at The Park Hotel, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The Panel discussion emphasized the critical analysis of the policy tool (EPR) for plastic waste management in India.

Felicitation Ceremony of Training Programme on Sustainable Waste Management, 23rd December 2022

A five-day training programme was organized for the delegates of Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO), Maldives from 19-23 December 2022. A Felicitation ceremony was organised for the participants on the successful completion of the course. His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Shaheeb, High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ms. Maryam Bassama, First Secretary of the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives to India was also present during the ceremony.

Inauguration of IPCA Centre for Waste Management and Research, 20th December 2022

The IPCA Centre for Waste Management and Research, a joint establishment of TERI School of Advanced Studies and IPCA was inaugurated on 20th December 2022. Dr. Prashant Gargava, Member Secretary, CPCB graced the occasion with his presence as the Chief Guest. Various dignitaries from corporates, NGOs, academia, development organisations, media, TERI SAS, and IPCA were present for the inaugural event. Centre's logo was also unveiled during the ceremony.

Dr. Gargava congratulated IPCA and TERI SAS for institutionalising ICWMR and stated that ICWMR is an important initiative to generate reliable data, undertake innovation & research in the field of solid waste management and play an instrumental role in providing solutions for environmental sustainability. He expected that the Centre will play a vital role in meeting the objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
